Water

1. Binary compound that occurs at room temperature as a clear, colourless, odourless, tasteless liquid; freezes into ice below 0 degrees centigrade and boils above 100 degrees centigrade; widely used as a solvent. 2. The part of the earth's surface covered with water (such as a river, lake or ocean). 3. A liquid necessary for the life of most animals and plants.

Reflections on the surface of a body of water can add interesting contrast into a photo.

Moving water, in fountains or waterfalls for example, can be "frozen" in time with a very fast shutter speed or appear as a water trail when captured with a slow shutter speed.
