View Through an Opening



A tree, a doorway, a window or even a gap in a fence can create a frame within the picture's frame that serves to focus the viewer's attention on the photo's subject.

Frames can be used to conceal unattractive foregrounds and other distracting details. They can also create a perception of depth by looking through one plane to another.
