2006 ASCCA Digital Photography Competition. The results are shown

Presentation :

- Geoff Turton gave a presentation on the Exchangeable Image File Format (Exif)
produced by digital still cameras and how Exif information can be used to determine
whether a digital image has been modified.
|
Activity :

- "Christmas" is the theme for images to be presented at the next
group meeting on 6 February 2007.

"Sculpture by the Sea"
is on display along the walk between Bondi and
Tamarama beaches from 2-19 November 2006.
- Results of the 2006 ASCCA Digital Photography Competition will be announced
at the ASCCA AGM on Thursday 9 November 2006 and will be posted on the
ASCCA website shortly thereafter.

Discussion :

- Members sought clarification on what constitutes an "enhanced" image
for the ASCCA Digital Photography Competition, and how the judges
determine whether or not an image has been enhanced.
|
Activity :
|
- The subject for photos to be presented at the December meeting is
"Sculptures" - either "by the Sea" or from elsewhere.
|
Members' Photos :
|
- Members displayed an interesting selection of "macro" photos, including
some slideshows using Microsoft's "Photo Story 3".

- Ian Chesterfield has printed all the HSCC entries in the 2006 ASCCA
Digital Photography Competition, and these will be displayed at the
November monthly meeting for members to vote for their favourite photos.

Activity :
|
- Macro photography is the theme for photos to be presented at the November
DIG meeting.
Macro lenses allow close-up shots and the shortest shooting distances
are obtained when the zoom lens set at the widest angle of view (W) position.
|
Presentation :
|
- Geoff Turton gave a short presentation on reducing the file size of
PowerPoint presentations containing photos.
The most effective method involves resampling each image down to
no more than 800 x 600 pixels, using an image editing program, before
inserting them into a PowerPoint presentation.
